Lovely Istanbul - Part 2

Talking about Istanbul's architectures is never complete without its mouth-watering food. We also were on a quest to try all sorts of food that Turkiye can offer.

The famous Barnathay Istanbul hotel

The kahvalti

We started with the one of most traditional breakfast (kahvalti) that comprised of honey, walnut paste, olives, fresh fruits and a variety of cheese. I tried a bit of the cheese that were on offer despite not being too adventurous. They had some sort of goat's cheese and another one cheese from Erzurum which looks like very stringy called civil peyniri. On the other hand, there were fried eggs, sucuk, fresh tomatoes and not to forget the Turkist tea - lovely breakfast. Mum and dad's favourite were the shashukla.

Other food and delicacies we tried were:

Baklava and kunefe - Kunefe not my favourite

Baklava and Ice Cream in Istanbul with Turkish Coffee

The famous adana kebab with the rest of the grilled food - so yummy!!

The yummy baba ganoush - yogurt and aubergine dipping

the famous pide

and we also tried the Simit, the savoury borek, the famous fish sandwiches (

Balik Ekmek) by the Bophorus - so tasty!!
