Picture Book of the Year Awards

It was a hot day and I was playing outside in the playground with my friends and all of a sudden, some friends and I were called by our headteacher. I got worried and thought I was in trouble but instead, we were asked if we could help some children from Year 2 writing some script from a book called ‘Mr Bunny’s Chocolate Factory'.

They had to represent the school for the Hillingdon Book of the Year where they had to say why they chose the book and also, perform a part or scene from the book. On Thursday 28th June, they went to the London Borough of Hillingdon Civic Centre to perform at the Picture Book of the Year Awards. They performed with confidence and resilience. They had learnt all their lines and needed no prompts! At the end of the event, all the children in Year 2 and their coaches in Year 6 were awarded certificates for taking part. I thoroughly enjoyed it!
